Today, March 21, is National Agriculture Day. This is the 50th anniversary of AG Day, which began in 1973. This year’s theme is “ Growing a Climate for Tomorrow”. Today, in Washington, D. C., the Agriculture Council of America will host a variety of activities, these events honor National Agriculture Day and mark a Nationwide effort to tell the true story of American agriculture and remind citizens that agriculture is a part of all of us.

Kansas Farm Bureaus’ “Shop Kansas Farms” rolled out a new website this morning in celebration of Agriculture Day. The website, “shopkansasfarms.com” features a searchable map so consumers can find food items from farmers near them. The new site lets consumers find farm listings based on cities, counties, regions and categories. It also provides new options for sellers. Sellers and buyers of Kansas food products should visit the new website and celebrate Kansas farmers and ranchers.

The National AG Day Program believes that every aAmerican should understand how food and fiber products are produced and appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant and affordable products.
