The R & B Sports Memorabilia Show was held Saturday, April 8th, at the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium. Dozens of sport memorabilia vendors from around the area were on hand for the event, as well as some celebrity guests. One of the most popular people there was former Osawatomie High standout, Kansas State University Football Star and Green Bay Packers starting quarterback, Lynne Dickey. He talked with fans and signed autographs for nearly three hours. One young fan had a conversation with him about the importance of school
Former Royals catcher John Wathan was also on hand to sign autographs. The annual sports show in Ottawa is known for drawing big name former athletes, such as Royals stars, Freddie Patek, Willie Aikens, and Ottawa’s own Steve Grogan. Organizer Chris Raby says they are working on next year’s show already.
