You may have seen some area farmers out in the field the past week or so, before the rains Monday, April 10th, prepping their field for planting corn, or actually putting seed in the ground; but, overall, it’s been either too cold, too wet or too dry. USDA Meteorologist, Brad Rippey, says inconstant weather has been an issue across the Midwest

He adds, corn growers had 2% of the seed in the ground two weeks ago and only 3% as of last week.
