Doctor Bud Ransom is a familiar name to most people in Franklin County, he retired from private practice last year, but is still active with in the county as the coroner. The Franklin County Commission renewed a four year contract with him at yesterday’s meeting to remain the coroner. County Administrator, Derek Brown told Commissioners that Coroners are really hard to find:
Ransom is actually coroner for the entire Fourth Judicial District, including Franklin, Anderson, Osage and Coffey Counties. However, there are other Deputy Coroners in the other counties that take care of most of the issues. Ransom is there if specific questions come up. The commissioners agreed to the $36,000 contract.
