Kansas and National corn leaders were disappointed in EPA’s proposal for new Greenhouse Gas and Multi-Pollutant Emissions Standards for light-duty vehicles, which does not adequately account for the environmental benefits of low-carbon ethanol. Kansas Corn Growers Association leaders say the standards should include ethanol fuels, a fuel that has been instrumental in reducing tailpipe emissions for decades. She adds that one third of the ethanol produced in Kansas goes to California where ethanol use is increasing dramatically to reach their climate goals.
