Ground breaking ceremonies are set for Monday April 17th, on the new Osage County Law Enforcement Center. The ceremony will be held on the front lawn of the current Osage County Sheriff’s Office in Lyndon. This comes over two years after planning started for the new center. County residents approved the new facility in February of 2022. Osage county Sheriff, Chris Wells says they can now give the county a law enforcement center it can be proud of and will be funded with a four year, half cent sales tax:
Wells says the current building and jail have a wide rang of issues, including black mold, bad ceilings, sinking foundations and no storage. The new facility will have up to 144 beds, up from the 30 available now and will house all aspects of law enforcement and emergency management. Ground breaking will be Monday at 2:00 in the afternoon
