Ottawa is greatly anticipating the arrival of a brand new fire engine. Fire Chief, Tim Mathias says he is asked two questions all the time:
The Ottawa City Commission will discuss payment options for the new truck at this morning’s meeting. They are putting out requests for proposals to area banks to finance the truck, which will cost just over $650,000. Mathia says the new engine will replace engine three, which is 27 years old. That truck will be sold to a rural fire department.
