A proposal to build Ottawa University student housing at 901 South Cherry may have run into a bit of a problem. At issue is a developer request that the project be rezoned to allow housing for several dozen students. At the Ottawa City Commission Study Session, City Planner, Jenna Hillyer, read off several recent objections voiced by neighbors:
City staff is recommending the area be re-zoned what is called R-2 that would allow more residential but with some restrictions. The City Commission will continue consideration of the matter next week.
