It’s no secret that Ottawa is in great need of a new swimming pool facility. the Forest Park Pool is nearly 60 years old and is beyond its life expectancy by a few decades. The City of Ottawa is in the preliminary stages of planning a new aquatic facility. Utilities Director, Dennis Tharp, says some of the work has already begun:
Tharp was giving an update to the Ottawa City Commission and did not elaborate on who is involved in the committee or any decisions they have made. The City realizes that for Ottawa to be a draw to potential industry and workers choosing to move her, there has to be amenities, such as a swimming pool, golf course, tennis courts and good schools and are working on addressing each one.
