Yesterday, the Kansas House and Senate voted to override House Bill 23-50, which created crimes for human smuggling, intentionally transporting, harboring, or concealing an individual into or within Kansas. The Bill was heavily supported by Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards:
Wednesday, the Legislature voted to override the Governor’s Veto on what’s known as the Born Alive Act, which will require health care providers to give care to an infant should it be born alive during an abortion procedure. They also overrode the Veto that defined biological sexes, the Women’s Right to Know Act, and the Safety and Privacy of School Children Act, which provided separate accommodations for students of the opposite sex on school trips, and a Bill that will expand the Welfare Work Training Program to those up to the age of 59, as well as the Women’s Bill of Rights Act and a Corrections Bill that separates biological men and women in prisons.
