As the temperature climbs, the risk of people or pets dying when lets unattended in vehicles increases dramatically. Heat causes the most weather related fatalities than any other type of weather. You should never leave children, disabled adults or pets in parked vehicles. Amber Rolling with kidsandcars.org says it really doesn’t have to be that warm outside for a car to get too hot:
That’s just at 80 degrees!. Imagine what happens when it gets warmer. In an experiment last Summer, I checked the temperature in my car one afternoon. It was a sweltering 159 degrees! On average, 38 kids die in hot cars every year. So far in 2023 there have been four deaths. Don’t let a tragedy happen to you!
