The Franklin County Commission will meet this morning with several items on the Agenda. One in particular that has become a big story lately. They will discuss amending the Franklin County Zoning Regulations to add an addendum granting a temporary moratorium on the planning, establishment, construction, application for or permitting of any special use permits for commercial wind energy conversion systems in the unincorporated areas of Franklin County, Kansas through 2026. Numerous people have attended the Franklin County Planning Commission Meetings and Commission Meetings expressing their displeasure with wind farms coming to Franklin County. Commissioner Roy Dunn expressed his discontent with the wind issue at a meeting in February:

There are several other items on the Agenda, including considering the creation of the Franklin County Litter Cleanup Program, which will be presented by Public Works Director, David Lee.
