The final Legislative Coffee was held at Ottawa City Hall, Saturday, May 6th. Fifty ninth District Representatives Rebecca Schmoe and Representative Carrie Barth, along with Senator Caryn Tyson were on hand to answer questions. Schmoe was asked what Bill she was most proud of to support this past session. She says it was the “Born Alive Bill” and the sanctity of life:
She added that debate on the Bill was very emotional in Committee, and on the House and Senate floor. Lawmakers over turned a record 12 Bills that were originally vetoed by Governor Laura Kelly.
