Many wheat growers are dealing right now with drought and will also later be dealing with a tough export and price situation. The latest survey, based USDA estimate of this seasons winter wheat crop shows just how poor the crop is turning out to be:

The USDA is projecting a 50 million bushel drop in wheat exports, as the U. S. is not very price competitive on the export market. This news, even though the USDA is projecting wheat prices to come in 85 cents lower than last year, at an estimated $8.00 a bushel.
