The need for energy is great in our Nation, particularly in rural parts of America. Yesterday, May 16th, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsak outlined two new programs that will bring investments in rural energy to levels not seen since the electrification of rural America in the 1930’s. They are known as New ERA and PACE.
The programs involve renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal, and others. The largest investment in rural energy since the rural electrification act in 1936, as part of the new deal under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt
