Believe it or not, registration has opened for one of the biggest events in the Garnett area, particularly when it comes to cars and racing. That’s right, registration is open for the 10th Annual Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival. You have plenty of time as the event won’t be held until the weekend of October 13th, but gear up now, as this year promises to be bigger and better than ever before. The cool thing about the event is it is run on what is known as a “ghost” track that once held some amazing races and drew the most famous cars and their drivers to Garnett. Think about it, Lake Garnett Grand Prix was a thriving race course back in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s that brought in such drivers as Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles, Jack Hinkle, Don Yenko, Cale Yarborough and DickThompson, just to name a few. Over 70,000 people drove in from all over to attend the event.
Special events go with the revival, such as the revival showcase in downtown Garnett, the Auto Cross held at the Garnett Airport, and charity rides in the classic race cars. Get your motor running for the Garnett Grand Prix Revival
