Garnett Police Chief, Kurt King wants to remind motorists that seat belts are the best way to save your life in a crash, no matter what vehicle you are driving. The problem is, he says…still a lot of people don’t buckle up, and that is a bad habit to pass down to your children and teens who will think that since you don’t buckle, it’s ok for them not to either. Starting today, the Garnett Police Department will join hundreds of law enforcement agencies across the country in the “Click It, or Ticket” Campaign, with extra enforcement. The Campaign focuses on education, strong laws and law enforcement support to save lives.
The Garnett Police Department is committed to vigorously ticket violators of adult seatbelt and child safety laws as well as other traffic infractions, which make the need for seatbelts for everyone necessary. The “Click It, or Ticket” Campaign will begin today… but buckle up every day. The life you save, just may be your own.
