Those wanting to file to run for public office in Anderson County have until noon Thursday, June 1st, to do so. The Thursday deadline is for candidates seeking election in the November 7th General Election with a possible Primary in August if enough filers sign up for certain positions.
School Board positions up for election in Garnett USD 365 include District 1, District 2 and District 3 and one At-Large Post. Crest USD 479 will elect Position 1, Position 2 and Position 3 as well as an At Large Post. Central Heights USD 288 will elect four At-Large Positions. The City of Garnett will elect the Commissioner Post, currently held by Jason Sheahan. Those interested in serving any of these positions can file at the Anderson Clerk’s Office at the County Courthouse in Garnett.
There is a $20 filing fee for all filings.
