The Ottawa City Commission appears to be finalizing some guidelines on people who want to have chickens. During the regular Commission Study Session, Commissioner Zach Clayton says he wants to see lower income people also be able to have chickens:

As things stand now, residents would probably be allowed up to six hens but no rooster.. More details are expected to be spelled out when the Commission is likely to approve the ordinance at its June 7th meeting.
