You always here about mailmen getting bitten by dogs, but, that does that really happen? Oh, yes it does. The United States Postal Service posted its annual list of states with the most dog bites against its carriers. Houston, Los Angeles, and Dallas were the cities with the most dog bites. Guess who was number 8 on the list….Kansas City, with 49 bites. In 2022, California with 675 and Texas with 404 were the states with the highest number of dog bites.
The Postal Service says more than 5,300 of its employees Nationwide were attacked by dogs last year. The agency says it trains its carriers not to startle the dogs and to avoid interacting with them. They added the best thing to do is keep your pets on a leash, behind a fence, inside your home, and away from the door.
