If an intended merger, announced recently, goes through, the healthcare organization that manages Anderson County hospital will be getting bigger… its resources, management and connections extending into the St Louis metro area and beyond. St. Luke’s Health System officials have intent to merge with St. Louis, Missouri based Barnes Jewish Christian in a deal that would add the Barnes 14 eastern and southeastern Missouri hospital operations to St. Luke’s 14 facilities in the Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas Region.
A Media Release says, with approximately $10 billion in revenue, the organizations are coming together to advance their vision of becoming the premier midwest destination for patient care, clinical research and medical education and the region’s most exceptional place to work and practice medicine.
Saint Luke’s operates Anderson County’s County-owned hospital on a 10 year lease agreement. It’s not immediately know what impact the merger will have on Anderson County Hospital
