We have heard the horror stories about the winter wheat crop this year, as the drought has take a major effect on the crop. However, the last couple weeks, conditions have improved slightly. USDA’s Gary Crawford with more:
Still, winter wheat crop abandonment in Kansas is expected to reach 33%, while other states, such as Texas could see as much as 76% abandonment. The USDA says without the additional acreage planted this season, the harvested crop could have been the lowest in more than 50 years.
