The Paola Police Department received information alleging a sexual assault that occurred at Lake Miola swimming beach on May 25th. The incident involved a juvenile victim. As a result of a long investigation, Paola Police have arrested 18-year-old Hayden West of Paola. He has been charged with one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child by the Miami County Attorney’s Office. Since that time, the Miami County Sheriff’s Office has revealed that at least one other victim has come forward and was identified as a rural Miami County juvenile.
Their media release states that West was charged with one county of indecent liberties with a child and seven counts of sexual exploitation of a child.
