A new report indicates that Ottawa is the 19th safest city in Kansas . Safewise ranked the 20 safest cities in Kansas during it’s 9th annual report by Crime Statistics, reported by police departments. Some interesting things taken from the report: …Ottawa is the 8th largest city on the list and half of the list has a population under 11,000 people. Ottawa is the largest city not connected to a metro area.
Ottawa Police Chief Adam Weingarten says there are over 350 police departments protecting communities across Kansas and to be ranked in the top 20 is a great accomplishment. He says he is pleased with the designation, but, he knows more can be done to keep Ottawa safe.
The top city on the list was Valley Center. Other area cities to make the top 20 include Eudora, Spring Hill, Gardner, Paola and Louisburg.
