It looks like a possible barrier to approval of a Final Plat for a housing development near 19th and Princeton has been cleared. The project, called Hidden Lakes, envisions around 24 residential homes on about nine acres. During the most recent Ottawa Planning Commission meeting, some residents showed up to complain that promised contacts with the neighbors were not made, and requests for a privacy fence and driveways remain unfulfilled. At one point, Patrick Rooney of the Belmont Development Company offered to decide the issues:
The Ottawa Planning Commission eventually recommended the Final Plat for approval, with language added requiring the developer put in a privacy fence and driveways as requested by residents. The City Commission has final say on the project.
