The Anderson County Development Agency, with the help of Kansas State University Extension Service is conducting a Needs Assessment Survey on the childcare needs in the county. They know the needs are there, in a big way. Parkwood Day School and a few other providers have recently opened, but Development Agency Director, Julie Turnipseed, says they are looking for more information:
She adds that there may be a growing number of residents that simply can’t afford the child care offered and they are working to address that issue also. She states that Parkwood and a few others accept child care assistance from the state and they are working on other solutions to the problem.
