The Ottawa Police Department strives to maintain the highest level of service to the community, and in doing so is one of just a few law enforcement organizations that are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, known as CALEA. Ottawa Police Chief, Adam Weingartner, says a CALEA Assessor was in town recently to review the last four years:
The final report on Accreditation won’t come down for several weeks, but Weingartner is confident the Ottawa Police Force will again receive an official high review from the organization.
