If you drive up to the Dole Institute for Politics at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, you might do a double take….there on a hillside is the likeness of Kansas Senator Bob Dole. The project is being created out of Earthworks by Kansas artist, Stan Herd. Herd says the likeness is surrounded by hundreds of tiles.
Herd says the tiles will be taken up and children can take them home to their parents. Herd recently completed a portrait of John Brown in John Brown Park in Osawatomie.
