A promise of a special announcement by the City of Ottawa drew about 100 people to Kanza Park yesterday, June 27th, the site of a new fitness court being constructed. After a short introduction by City Clerk,Melissa Reed, she handed the mic over to Matt Lane of T-Mobile who presented a grant for $50,000 toward the new fitness court:
The fitness court is also sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, various Ottawa businesses and the National Fitness Campaign, who has launched eight other courts in Kansas, including one in Garnett that was dedicated in June of last year. The City of Ottawa will hold a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting in the next few weeks.
