A Garnett man was in Anderson County District Court Tuesday, June 27th, facing 18 counts of child exploitation in connection with pornographic photos he allegedly uploaded to a cloud based data service in May. Thirty four year-old Evan Ladewig, of Garnett, is charged with uploading the photos from his telephone to the service, which included depictions of girls under the age of 10 in sexual acts. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Department was contacted May 24th by a Wichita Police Department Detective in reference to a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that the images had been uploaded by an individual using synchronoss technologies and identified Ladewig’s telephone number as the origination point of the upload.
The hearing Tuesday morning was held by zoom. Ladewig remains in the Anderson County Jail with bond issued at $100,000. A status conference on the case has been scheduled for August 8th at 11:00 in the morning.
