In 2021, Nationwide there were 1.4 million fires that resulted in 3,800 civilian deaths. Two thirds of those deaths occurred with missing or malfunctioning smoke alarms. Ottawa Fire Department Lieutenant and Community Risk Reduction Coordinator, Mike Wilson, says many of those lives could have been saved.
Wilson, along with Fire Education Specialist Cody Schraad and Jamie Roecker will be our guests on this week Community Perspective. They will tell about programs within the Ottawa Fire Department and provide fire safety tips and advice. Tune in tomorrow morning at 8:04 to hear the entire conversation.
