In his monthly Mid-America Business Conditions Index Survey of supply managers, Creighton University Economics Professor,Ernie Goss, says June was the fifth straight month the index registered a reading above growth neutral. The Mid-America Region continues to grow, but at a slower pace:

Other threats include labor shortages, higher inflation and higher interest rates. Hiring fell slightly from May with one out of five firms reporting job gains for the month. Labor hoarding is still an issue with labor productivity growth being the worst it has been since 1947.
