A differing interpretation on building codes was at the heart of discussion of a proposed housing project near 19th and South Princeton during the Ottawa City Commission Study Session. Gary Harris of 1801 South Princeton has complained about the extra stormwater runoff he says would be caused by the project. Harris quoted to the City Commission from the International Property Code which the City of Ottawa has agreed to abide by. City Manager, Brian Silcott begged to differ on one point:
Harris says he may have come to a private understanding with the housing project developer in which some stormwater would run off through a pipe across his property which he would be responsible to maintain.
