A 1989 graduate of Ottawa High School will be the special guest of the Ottawa Library and launch his new book entitled “ Beautiful States of Mind”. It’s a memoir, but also a book about traveling, parenting, self discovery and Americana. David Chelan will be at the Ottawa Library August 1st for the book launch. The novel guides the reader on a father and daughter’s pilgrimage through 50 states. The end result is a heartwarming tail of family reckoning, exploration, healing and growth. At the book launch, David will talk about what inspired him to write the book and he will also have copies of the book available for purchase and do book signings.
Chelan’s work has appeared in numerous outlets including Spin, Smart Business, and other publications throughout the United States. Chelan graduated from Ottawa High in 1989 and then the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. The book launching will be August 1st at 6:30 at the Ottawa Library.
