How do you market economic development and attract business and industry to Garnett? One thing is the space for a business to build and grow. The Anderson County Development Council recently purchased some land just for that reason. Director Julie Turnipseed explains the importance:
The land is located east of town off 169 Highway. Turnipseed says that gives highway access to any light industry that may inquire about the area. She adds that the community has been working hard on new housing, which is coming and on daycare facilities, citing the addition of Parkwood Day School and 12 other licensed in-home child care centers in and around the area.
