The Miami County Fair starts next week and one of the most cherished and famous pie baking contests at any county fair is the King Arthur Company Pie Baking Contest. It’s a great way for people to showcase their pie baking talents and make a run for the elusive First Place Ribbon and special prizes:
The pie contest is Monday, July 24th. So, practice over the weekend and get your pies to the fairgrounds by 5:30 Monday. There are other rules, see the fair website or facebook page for more information. All pies go up for auction after judging and all the money raised goes to the Miami County Fair Association. Last year’s winner was an apple cranberry pie.
