The Wellsville Police Department may get a new tool in crime fighting. Wellsville Police Chief Danny Hackler described a license tag reader to City Council members.
Hackler says the reader would track inbound traffic to Wellsville, and issue an alert if it detects a suspicious vehicle. The camera will cost around $3,000 a year. The council asked for a demonstration of the device at the next regular Council Meeting.
