Country music icon Dolly Parton visited Kansas City yesterday, August 14th, to celebrate the success the Imagination Library has seen in Kansas over the past few years. She described her motivation in creating the Imagination Library…her daddy:
In Kansas alone, over 52,000 kids have signed up for the Imagination Library, which provides a free book for all children every month until their fifth birthday. If you signed your child up on the day they were born, they would have 60 books in their library when they turned five. The focus is to promote literacy and reading to all children in the world.
