The hot weather is taking its toll on pets as well as humans. People have sweat glands all over our bodies to help cool us down a bit. But, for dogs, the only way to cool down is…panting. She also cautions that hot pavement can burn a dog’s paws, so be sure and walk them in the cooler parts of the day, but, with the extreme heat, avoid pavement if possible.
