The Ottawa City Commission has approved an agreement between the Ottawa Fire Department and the Kansas Forest Service. The agreement could send local firefighters to fires in other parts of the country in case of a major event. Ottawa Fire Chief, Tim Matthias explained the agreement to Commissioners:
Matthias says in some cases, participating in a National event could bring in enough money to better equip the fire department with necessary supplies.
