Paola Police received a report of a possible drowning at Lake Miola last night, Sunday, September 3rd. Just after 7:00 last evening they were notified of the incident and they, along with the Paola Fire Department, Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Miami County EMS and the Osawatomie Fire and Water Rescue Team, were dispatched to assist. Once on scene, at 8:08, they located a 51-year-old hispanic male and he was pronounced deceased.
Neither the name of the victim or the circumstances surrounding his death were released, pending an ongoing investigation. KOFO will keep you informed with more details as they become available from the Paola Police Department.
