The Livestock Indemnity Program, known as LIP, provides assistance to you for livestock deaths in excess of normal mortality, caused by adverse weather, disease and attacks by animals. The USDA is changing the fair market value for beef over 800 pounds. AG Secretary Tom Vilsack:
The deadline for both programs is January 30th. For either program, contact the Franklin County USDA Service Center or the Franklin County Conservation District, who can move you in the right direction for the application process.
