The school year is nearly four weeks old in Ottawa and students at the Ottawa Middle School still don’t have a gym to use. The floor was found to be deficient this summer and it took some time to get the right contractors in place to replace the 25 year old floor. USD 290 Superintendent, Dr. Ryan Cobbs, credits District Board members for making sure it was done correctly:

The floor is scheduled to be complete sometime this month so PE classes and sports events will be able to return to the building. Until then, PE classes will be outside and at the Goeppert Center, and sporting events sharing space at the high school.
