The Franklin County Historical Society held a program last night looking into people in Franklin County that have run for office. “The Governor Next Door: Elected Officials from Franklin County” looked at a variety of interesting historical figures from the area. Director Diana Saracenic-Deane talks about a man named P. P. Elder, a strong abolitionist who moved to Ottawa after the Civil War, and founded the First National Bank of Ottawa:
