Grocery prices have been on the decline the last couple months after shooting up nearly 20% over the past year or so. However, there are a few foods that are coming down in price, like eggs and dairy. Beef prices have been dropping the last couple months, but this month have turned around and are on their way back up. Why? You ask? USDA Economist Matt MacLachlan with the answer:


Those shortages are attributed to cattle loss during drought conditions that plagued the county for the last several months. He says it could be a year before cattle numbers are back up and beef prices begin to come back down.
