The Ottawa High School Wall of Honor has four new members after last night’s ceremony. From the Class of 1948, former educator and longtime Eisenhower Elementary Principal, Al Keefer, Class of 1974, Banker and Ottawa City Commissioner, Mike Skidmore, Class of 1983, KOFO’s own Derek Chappel, and Class of 1997, Financial Advisor, Ryan Henningsen now grace the wall.

The Wall of Honor was started by former Ottawa High School math teacher, Gary Kuntz, who was in attendance at last night’s ceremony. Those that remember Kuntz, know that he is famous for always having a toothpick in his mouth, and he hasn’t changed much, sporting the iconic toothpick last night. The program began as an outgrowth of the OHS Renaissance Program created by Kuntz. Currently, the program is coordinated by College/Career Counselor Stella Tharp. Selection to the wall of honor is the highest honor that Ottawa High can bestow upon a graduate.
