The West Franklin School District FFA is hosting a prestigious conference this week. The East Central District Greenhand Conference. The East Central District encompasses a wide area and includes some of the bigger schools, such as Lawrence Free State, Olathe and Topeka schools, Spring Hill and all the smaller schools in between. Advisor in Agriculture Education at West Franklin, Caleb Powelson is the FFA District Advisor, something he says hasn’t happened in the area for 28 years. The conference will be held today, September 20th, at Prairie View High School with 600 Greenhands or more on hand. Many businesses from around the area will be on hand for the event.
