People who want to have a few chickens in the city limits of Ottawa may now do so. That comes about after the Ottawa City Commission approved a new ordinance regulating chickens. City Manager, Brian Silcott, talked about some provisions of the measure:

At one point during discussion, it appeared the Commission might table the chicken ordinance over a disagreement on certain setback requirements. In the end, the Commission moved ahead and noted they will closely track how people are responding to the ordinance.
