The owner of a local liquor store has asked the Ottawa City Commission to expand the hours they can be open on Sunday. It hasn’t been that long since Ottawa allowed Sunday liquor sales. At the time, Ottawa allowed sales from noon to 8:00 in the evening. Kirby Snyder of Blu-Sky Liquor says he and other local stores would like to expand hours to accommodate people buying drinks for noon football games:

The Commission ask the City Attorney Blane Finch to draft a request to change the ordinance to the hours allowed by the state, which start at 9 a.m. on Sunday. The change wouldn’t require the stores to be open at that time. The issue will be taken up at a future meeting
