The chair of the Ottawa Planning Commission is a bit unhappy at something that happened during the special meeting on Thursday, September 28th. The Commission was considering a re-zone of some property at 1426 East Wilson Street that is slated for a housing development for those over 55 years of age. Apparently the Commission was under the impression that what is called a Planned Urban Development or PUD, would be necessary and also a Conditional Use Permit would be necessary, but staff at the re-named Neighbor and Community Services Department, decided that a PUD was not necessary, but had not told Commissioners. Chair Cal Lantis was not happy:

The Commission went ahead and approved a re-zone of the area and the next step is to come up with a Final Plat of the development.
